Apatisiwin is a Swampy Cree word meaning employment , training and jobs.
The vision of the Apatisiwin program is that Indigenous people gain education,
experience, and skills to achieve and maintain meaningful employment.
Apatisiwin offers several employment and training services with 11 client
interventions. Interventions are defined as an action plan activity,
within a specific timeframe, developed by the client and Employment
Coordinator intended to assist a client to improve employability in order to
prepare for, obtain and/or maintain employment.

PROGRAM GOAL:
To provide opportunities for Urban Aboriginal people who reside in
Ontario to improve their lives through culturally relevant services delivered
through an employment-focused, demand
-driven program model. Apatisiwin is the largest network of employment and training services for Urban Indigenous people in Ontario. Our Apatisiwin Employment Coordinator can provide community-based and one-to-one supports and resources, and can assist clients to access a range of training, education and skills development opportunities.

Whether it means going back to school, help to prepare résumés, cover letters, practicing for interviews, on-the-job training, or assistance with the costs of living while clients improve their skills toward a career path, our Apatisiwin Employment Coordinator is there to assist with your employment and training needs.
